Unexpected Side Effects
If you experience new or worsening symptoms such as swelling in your ankles, increased shortness of breath, or persistent nausea, it’s a good idea to check in. These could indicate side effects that need medical review or dosage adjustment.
Mood Changes or Irritability
While elevated energy and motivation are common with TRT, unusual mood swings, heightened irritability, or feelings of anxiety or depression should be discussed with your provider. Emotional balance is an important part of treatment success.
Significant Injection Site Reactions
Mild tenderness after injections is expected, but if you notice excessive redness, warmth, or discomfort at the injection site lasting more than a couple of days, reach out. Your provider can assess for infection or technique-related issues.
Difficulty Sleeping or Increased Aggression
If you’re having trouble falling asleep, feeling unusually restless, or noticing aggressive behavior, these may be signs of fluctuating hormone levels. Your provider can help fine-tune your treatment for better balance.
No Improvement After Several Weeks
If you’ve been consistent with your injections and still feel fatigued, low in mood, or not noticing any improvement in symptoms after several weeks, it’s worth reconnecting. Adjustments may be needed to optimize your treatment plan.
